Huawei has announced P8, the company’s latest flagship smartphone in the P series. It has a 5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) full HD IPS display with 78.3% screen-to-body ratio, is powered by Huawei’s own octa-core Hisilicon Kirin 930/935 processor with Mali-T628 MP4 GPU and runs on Android 5.0 (Lollipop) with Huawei own Emotion UI 3.1 on top. It has a 13-megapixel rear camera with OIS, dual-tone flash and a 8-megapixel front-facing camera. It also has spill-resistant nano coating.

It has unibody aluminum build with the diamond shape highlighting the texture of the metal. It has a triple-layer shark-gill design for reliability and robustness of the device, says the company. The smartphone is just 6.4mm thin, comes with dual SIM support, with the second slot can also be used for microSD expansion. It has 4G connectivity on both the slots. It also has an optional 4.3-inch E-ink display cover that can be attached to the back of the phone.
It has several touch screen gestures. Double-tapping a knuckle captures a full-length screen shot and drawing a circle on the screen quickly captures content. It has search phone by voice function that allows users to call out to their misplaced smartphone, which will respond through its speaker to identify. It also has super hands-free functionality that supports hands-free speaker calls within a radius range of 2 meters.

The Huawei P8 comes in Mystic Champagne, Prestige Gold and Titanium Grey and Carbon Black colors and is priced 499 Euros (US$534 / Rs. 33,297 approx.) for the standard version and the premium version will cost 599 Euros (US$641 / Rs. 39,970 approx.). It will be available in 30 countries in a month.
