and now it looks like the smartphone is being updated in South Korea as well. All of the three major carriers in South Korea (SKTelecom, Korea Telecom Freetel, and LG Telecom), are now updating their corresponding versions of the Alpha, and the software updates are also available for download through Samsung Kies.
The Galaxy Alpha versions which are now being updated to Android 5.0.2 Lollipop are the SM-G850K, SM-G850S, and the SM-G850L. Galaxy Alpha owners from other countries should see their Lollipop updates arriving soon enough. To check out if the new Android version is available for your device, go to Menu –> Settings –> About Phone –> Software Version –> Check for updates.
Among other things, the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update for the Samsung Galaxy Alpha brings a new version of the TouchWiz user interface (which is inspired by Google's Material Design principles), the new Lock Screen notifications, a new "Recent Apps" menu, enhanced battery life, as well as the usual range of performance improvements and bug fixes.
