PS4 Remote Play is coming to the Sony Xperia Z2 and Xperia Z2 Tablet, Sony has confirmed.
Sony has revealed its older Xperia Z2 and Xperia Z2 Tablet will support PS4 Remote Play when the update launches in November, alongside the new Sony Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3 Compact and Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact.
The news was revealed in the Xperia Lounge app competition to win an Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact, which confirmed the older generation devices would support the gaming service in the T&Cs.

This is welcome news for those who invested in Sony’s last smartphone entry just six months ago. The Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z2 don’t differ hugely in internal hardware, so it wouldn’t be a major leap for the Z2 to support PS4 Remote Play.
What is great though is that the Xperia Z2 and Xperia Z2 Tablet will both support the service from launch, rather than requiring a patch further down the line.
The Xperia Lounge information confirms that all aforementioned devices will support PS4 Remote Play from November 2014. Of course, you’ll need to use your PS4 DualShock 4 controller to use the service on any of these devices.
